The Fahad & Glenda Ghaffar Family Impact Fund was founded in 2018 to formalize the charity works of husband and wife Fahad and Glenda Ghaffar. The couple met in 2016 in Puerto Rico, and their relationship was kindled by a mutual love of charitable giving.
After formally establishing F&G, which is funded entirely by the couple, the Ghaffars focused their efforts on two main causes: to help eradicate thirst and to target the pervasive gender and socioeconomic gap in access to education in countries such as Fahad’s native Pakistan.
To that end, F&G partners with multiple water and education nonprofits in Puerto Rico and throughout the world, providing clean water to hundreds of thousands of people each day (a number the couple is committed to grow in their lifetime) and education opportunities to women, girls and boys in remote regions of Pakistan as well as work with children of special needs in Puerto Rico.
In addition, F&G collaborates with numerous organizations that provide supportive services to people facing a variety of challenges or crises–from domestic violence to missing children, disabilities and disasters. F&G also supports animal welfare.
Born in Pakistan, Fahad grew up witnessing the devastating effects of extreme poverty. He was also inspired by his country’s deep-rooted culture of philanthropy, which has flourished against all odds.
Fahad came to the U.S. at age 16, worked his way up to get a college education, and built a successful career in banking and real estate. His charitable spirit was a main driver of his financial success. For Fahad, earning money has always been a means to giving.
In 2012, work commitments brought him to Puerto Rico, where he met someone who shared his love for philanthropy. He married her and, together, they founded F&G.

In her native Puerto Rico, Glenda was busy paying it forward. Ever since she was a teenager, she had been involved in charitable work. Even though she initially did not have the financial means to contribute money, she gave her time to numerous causes: from homes for victims of domestic violence, to environmental causes and animal shelters.
Glenda is particularly devoted to causes and projects that transform lives, championing initiatives that promote access to clean water, education, healthcare and community development. Her collaboration with the National Network of Gender-Based Violence Shelters in Puerto Rico and Susan G. Komen Puerto Rico, has had a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of women on the island.
