We partner with numerous organizations to make a positive impact that contributes to the well-being and safety of people, animals and the environment.
Here is some of the work we do:
The National Network of Gender-Based Violence Shelters (Red Nacional de Albergues de Violencia de Género) in Puerto Rico supports shelters in their mission to save lives. Member shelters, such as Hogar Ruth, not only provide shelter but also a warm home and essential services to help women build a life free from violence.
F&G has been supporting this worthwhile organization for more than 10 years. In addition, Glenda is a member of the network’s fundraising committee, which provides ongoing support to the shelters.
Roshni Helpline is a nonprofit child protection organization based in Karachi, Pakistan. Since 2003, it has been operating the country’s first and only dedicated helpline for missing children, working closely with law enforcement, communities and families to ensure swift and safe recoveries.
Over the past two decades, Roshni has played a vital role in the successful recovery and reunification of more than 12,000 missing children. Beyond recoveries, Roshni also works on preventive outreach, legal support, awareness campaigns and capacity-building with key stakeholders, ensuring a more robust and informed response to child disappearance cases.
With F&G’s help, Roshni has been able to expand its reach increasing recoveries from 400 per year to 2,600 per year, improve its infrastructure, and protect more children, thus building a stronger and more sustainable organization.
Since 1950, SER de Puerto Rico has distinguished itself for providing medical, therapeutic and educational services to people with disabilities, enabling them to reach their full potential. SER is the first organization on the island to link resources for the comprehensive rehabilitation of children, adolescents, adults and seniors with disabilities.
F&G has donated to SER since 2016 as well as advised the leadership on scaling operations to other parts of Puerto Rico.
The Iqra Fund establishes high-quality, self-sustaining school systems in the remote, mountainous regions of northern Pakistan and works tirelessly to empower students, especially girls. To date, the fund has trained more than 1,000 teachers, aided more than 5,000 first-generation students, and provided access to K-12 education to 100% of the girls it has assisted.
Pakistan’s stability is globally significant geo-politically, economically and environmentally. The country has the second highest population of out-of-school-children in the world: 44% of children ages 5 to 16 are not enrolled in school. The fund’s investment in girls’ education helps decrease child and marriage rates, reduce infant and maternal mortality rates, foster smaller and healthier families, increase wages and address climate change.
For more than 12 years, F&G has helped the Iqra Fund build a continuum of education–from early childhood development to university scholarships for first-generation girls, including students now pursuing degrees in medicine and education. Many of these scholars are returning home as teachers and role models in their communities. In recent years, F&G’s support has expanded into infrastructure, health and hygiene, and access to clean drinking water. Iqra and F&G are undertaking their boldest endeavor yet: building a Bella Rose girls college for more than 600 students, making it the northernmost college in the country.
In 2022, Hurricane Fiona caused extensive flooding in Loíza’s Miñi Miñi sector, forcing 16 families to evacuate the area for days. F&G partnered with Alma de Bahía, a nonprofit foundation that supports communities and sustainability through conservation and environmental education initiatives, to bring a plumbing and water pumping company to clear 50,000 gallons of stagnant and unsanitary water affecting Miñi Miñi and its residents.
The flooding cut off all communication and prevented residents from receiving essential goods and services and making repairs to their homes, which had been damaged by the hurricane.
CDRS supports disabled, impoverished and neglected individuals, families and animals in crisis across all major cities in Pakistan. It provides disaster relief and logistics, quality healthcare, rehabilitation, clean drinking water, educational programs, career counseling, vocational training, grief counseling, skill building activities and animal welfare programs.
With F&G’s support, CDRS have carried out 195 clean-drinking water projects in Pakistan, benefiting more than 770,000 people each day.
